Cama Beach Foundation is a nonprofit, volunteer organization
created to support and develop educational programs and activities
for visitors to Camano Island Washington's two State Parks: Camano Island
State Park and Cama Beach State Park.
The Foundation raises funds through its retail shop
located at Cama Beach State Park,
accepts donations from the public and applies for grants to further
its educational goals within these parks.
Currently a gift shop run by the foundation is open in the
'Historical Store' at Cama Beach, where one can go in and see the
memorabilia from the original resort store era, obtain
information about park events and neighboring island happenings, and
find many old fashioned toys, gifts, local artists wares, Parks
items with the park logos, ice creams and sundries, and a snack or
two to make the visit memorable.
The store opens the first week of
April each year for spring break visitors and then on
Saturdays each week until mid June, when it opens daily for the
remainder of the summer. Hours during the summer are 10-4 pm. After
Labor Day the hours go back to Saturdays and then closes at the end
of October.
Foundation membership is open to all who would like to be a part
of the Camano Island Foundation, whether by volunteering to help at the store,
by fundraising, by
donation to support our goals or by becoming a part of the
educational team to
develop and teach programs. See
